Originally from Macedonia,TANJA TZAROVSKA has a voice to die for and a knack for crafting meaningful, witty and touching lyrics. A major female song-writing talent with a touch of South East European spice and the maturity of Tanja’s very own special style. In the words of Hollywood composer John Debney “Tanja is one of the most unique and gifted singers I’ve ever worked with. Her vocal performances on my score for “The Passion …of the Christ” are etched in my mind as simply said: “remarkable…” Featured also in films Troy, One Giant Leap, and Mothers, and even Sony Playstation’s ‘Lair’, you’ve probably already heard her voice without knowing it. This is a rare chance to see her perform songs from her new album with her six-piece band. The CD ‘No Record Of Wrong’ is released on the same day through Cadiz Music. Find her at http://www.facebook.com/TanjaTzarovska
Support come from TESS, an up-and-coming male singer-songwriter from Kent whose album ‘Magpie’ is also distributed by Cadiz Music, (www.tessnotes.com) and Arhai, an electro-Balkan folk project featuring Adrian Lever (guitar and tambura) from forward-thinking folk act Horses Brawl and Serbian singer Jovana Backovic (vocals and electonics). Her voice and arrangements can be heard in the Academy award-winning score by composer James Horner (‘Avatar’, ‘Titanic’) for Wolfgang Petersen’s ‘Troy’, including the end titles duet with Josh Groban (produced by the legendary David Foster) and in the original score by the Academy award-winning composer Gabriel Yared (‘The English Patient’) for ‘Troy’, for which she also coached and led the choir. She was the featured vocalist in Academy award-nominee John Debney’s score for Mel Gibson’s ‘The Passion of the Christ’ and also collaborated with the same composer on his soundtrack for Sony Playstation’s ‘Lair’.
She appeared in ‘One Giant Leap’, the ground-breaking music/philosophy documentary film by Jamie Catto (Faithless) and Duncan Bridgeman. Foltin
Quirky, Balkan indie cabaret from leading Macedonian mavericks Foltin, who sing in English, Macedonian and made up languages, and blend folk, jazz, funk, chalga, and klezmer into a madcap mix. It is not a strange thing to imagine all that when you consider the fact that they have worked on a music for theatre performances, in which they are famous for using the ready-made “instruments” or creating ambient sound with objects from unmusical primer function, construction of some kind sculptures and installations. Foltin exist since 1995 and so far released four albums. Support from songstress Tanja Tzarovska. EVENT INFO
